Paul Duke, Jr.

Paul Duke, Jr. (b. circa 1925), was the stage name of Paul Duke’s (c.1895-1981) son, Marvin, who started out assisting his father.
By 1940, he was doing a double act with his dad.
He then saw combat duty during World War II in Europe. He was reported back in the States by his father in Billboard Magazine (August,25, 1945).

Ludwig Doebler

Ludwig Leopold Doebler (Döbler or Dobler) (1801 – 1864) gave up an apprenticeship in engraving to become a conjurer.
By 1825, Doebler performed for Prince Metternich and Emperor Francis I of Austria. His opening effect was lighting a hundred candles with a single pistol shot. Another signature effect was the “Flora’s Flower Bouquet Production”, in which he produced numerous flowers from an empty hat.
